Cloth Diaper Overnight SolutionsMost parents are concerned about keeping baby's bottom nice and dry overnight. Here are several great options for dry bums overnight. Option #1 Happy Heiny's Pocket with Hemp Inserts & Microfiber Insert For smaller babies (under 6 mos old) and older babies who are not heavy wetters, I recommend a Happy Heiny's Pocket Diaper stuffed with a hemp insert and a microfiber insert. Be sure to place the microfiber insert on top of the hemp stuffins before stuffing the diaper. Hemp is more absorbent than microfiber, but is a bit slower to absorb. Microfiber is fast-absorbing, but doesn't hold as much as hemp. Together, they make a great night time diapering option. Plus, they stay-dry fleece inner keeps baby's skin nice and dry. Option #2 Pocket Diaper stuffed with Hemp Prefold For babies 6 months and older or for heavy-wetters of any age, I recommend using a hemp prefold (tri-folded) as an insert in a pocket diaper. Any pocket diaper will work as long as it is made from PUL. Stay-dry fleece inner of the pocket diaper will keep baby's skin nice and dry. Option #3 Happy Hempy Fitted & an Imse Vimse Wool Cover or Bummis Polar Bummi Fleece Cover Happy Hempy fitted diapers are great for overnight b/c they combine 3 great cloth diaper features. Happy Hempy's are fitted diapers made of hemp with a stay dry fleece inner AND a pocket that allows for adding absorbency as needed. If extra absorbency is needed, I recommend adding a hemp insert. Imse Vimse Wool Covers are SUPER soft. They are nothing like that itchy sweater hanging in the back of your closet. Wool is incredibly soft and comfortable for baby. In addition, it is perfect for overnight b/c it will prevent the diaper from leaking. The Hempy with fleece keeps baby's bum nice & dry. The Imse Vimse wool cover keeps pj's & crib sheets dry. Everybody wins! If you prefer a machine washable AND Dryable overnight cover, I recommend the Polar Bummi. Option #6 Indian Prefolds with Stay-Dry Fleece Liners & Bummis Fleece Cover Indian Prefolds are super soft and very absorbent, making them a great option for overnight diapering. Happy Heiny's stay dry liners will keep baby's bottom nice and dry through the night. The Danish Wool pull-on cover is sup soft and very absorbent. This cover is great for keeping baby's clothes and bedding nice and dry. |
